Technology Summary

Photo Voltaic power generation uses solar radiation and converts it into direct current (DC) electricity. This DC power can then be used to either charge batteries for storage or it can be converted to alternating current (AC) for residential or commercial use. Some regions allow the system to be tied into the electrical grid for net metering or feed-in tariffs. Some site considerations include the intensity of the sun, possible shading, the solar radiation the region recieves on average and changes in seasons.
